ANNA LOUISE CRAYCRAFT, 87
passed away early Friday morning, November 11, 2011, at Golden Living Center, Muncie, Indiana after a long illness.
 
She was born Anna Louise LeMaster on August 24, 1924. Like Loretta Lynn she is a coalminer's daughter from Van Lear, Kentucky.
Parents, Carrie Mae Davis and Arthur LeMaster gave birth to eight children.
Anna was 3 1/2 years old when her mother passed away. Her father would twice remarry with two sets of children. A total of 19 siblings for Anna.
 
The family moved to Ohio when she was 6 years old. Grew up in Catawba, Mechanicsburg, Springfield and Dayton, Ohio.
Graduated from Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis and from numerous bookkeeping extention courses, from Cornell University and others.
 
Married and lived in Muncie until 1955 then Indianapolis, Indiana until retirement.
 
Worked as a dining room hostess in Muncie at the famed Roberts Hotel in the early 50s.
Primary career was Head Cashier and Bookkeeper in the grocery business for more than 50 years: Marsh, Standard Grocery, Kroger and
A&P Grocery. Had a brillant talent for numbers and loved working with the public; developed many long and
loyal friendships over the years of service.
 
Upon retirement Anna moved to Lafayette, Colorado where she worked as a tax consultant for H&R BLOCK and
attended Front Range Junior College, with a major in computer and tax accounting. At home she loved to cook and garden.
 
Lived in Santa Clarita, California for ten of the last 11 years. Relocated to Muncie, Indiana in 2009 to be near
family in Indiana and Ohio.
 
Wrote religous poetry and music. An animal lover for all of her adult life. Survived by a sweet pug, Roxy.
Enjoyed decades of broadway theater, classical and spiritual music. Traveled extensively: US, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.
Hosted many foreign exchange students from Brazil over the years.
 
Was a devout Roman Catholic and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Muncie, Indiana.
A loving mother with many friends she practiced what she preached in all areas of faith and morals.

Mary Albright, half-sister, (husband, Richard), South Bloomingville, Ohio; Lindsey LeMaster, half-brother (wife Loretta), McArthur, Ohio; Jean Ousley, half-sister (husband, Richard) Wellston, Ohio;
Sueko LeMaster, sister-in-law, Ft. Worth, Texas; Walter Wheeler, cousin (wife, Edna) Springfield, Ohio; Evelyn Jeanie Davis, cousin, Redlands, Ca; Diane Toller, neice
(husband JR), Rarden, Ohio; Charlegne Toler, neice (husband, Tom) Peebles, Ohio; Buddy Clark, nephew, Rarden, Ohio; Wanda Larson, neice (husband Kerm),

Viewing and funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 18th at St. Mary's Catholic Church,
2300 West Jackson Street, Muncie, IN 47303-4797.
Viewing at 10:00 am, service immediately follows at 11:00 am.
 
Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie, Indiana.
Reception will follow at Vera Mae's Bistro.
