Carlos Carpenter, 81, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 28, 1936 in Jamestown, Tennessee, the son of the late Carlos and Jessie (Owens) Carpenter. Carlos was a veteran of the United States Army and a long-time member of Teamsters Local 135. He loved to tinker and could fix anything you put in front of him, but most importantly he was a father and a provider to his family.
He is survived by two sons, Dustin Carpenter; Carlos “Skeet” Carpenter; one daughter, Bobbie Hatton (Husband-Rick); one brother, Louie “Bud” Carpenter; ten grandchildren, Dustin Jr., Sharliene, Christina, Lisa, Jessica, Vauneda, Scott Clark, Travis Clark, Shawn Beaty, Ashley Bolin; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Carlos and Jesse Carpenter; wife of seventeen years and the love of his life, Bonnie Carpenter; one son, Bruce Carpenter; two sisters, Claudette Anderson and Sammie Owens; and a brother, Herman Richards.
Services will be at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, with Pastor Jim Day officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 11:00 a.m. on Thursday until the time of service.
Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard.
