CHARLES  W.  VAN CAMP

 

   Muncie, IN. - Charles W. Van Camp, 85, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his home.

   Charles was born in Muncie, Indiana, on September 9, 1930, to the late Edward N. and Lela (Greene) Van Camp.

   Charles graduated from Muncie Central High School and after joined the United States Navy from 1949-1953 and later became a wood pattern maker for over 40 years. He was a long time member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Charles was a past president of the Muncie Civic Theatre and the Catalina Swim Club. He loved go-kart racing and slot car racing. Charles was a Ball State athletics fan.

   Charles is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dixana Van Camp; children, Stephen E. Van Camp and his companion, Millie of Fernandina Beach, FL; Mary Kay Van Camp of Muncie, IN; Joan E. McKinley and her husband, James of Muncie, IN; Joseph P. Van Camp and his wife , Cheryl of Union City, IN; Catherine T. Schwenk and her husband, Matt of Belvidere, IL; Christina A. Stambaugh and her husband, Adam of Noblesville,  IN; grandchildren, Kristen Holland and her husband, Dug of Fairfield, OH; Sara McKinley of Anderson, IN; Jamie McKinley of Muncie, IN; India Van Camp of Astoria, NY; Benjamin Van Camp of Union City, IN; Nicholas, Luke, and Jake Schwenk all of Belvidere, IL; Lucy Stambaugh of Noblesville, IN; great-grandchild, Daphne Holland of Fairfield, OH; sister, Carol Crock and her husband, Howard of Slidell, LA.

   Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015, from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary.

   Services will be Monday, November 30, 2015, at 10 A.M. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Muncie, IN, with Father David Hellman officiating. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, IN, with Delaware County Honor Guard conducting military honors.

   Memorial contributions may be given to St. Lawrence School.
