Clona Beatrice (Bell) Black

February 21, 1931 ~ August 22, 2016 (age 85) 85 Years Old

                Muncie-Clona B. Black, 85, was given eternal peace early Monday afternoon , August 22, 2016, at the Liberty Village Health Care Center following an extended illness.  She was born on February 21, 1931, in Bell Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of Marion and Nancy Jane (Ross) Bell.

                She attended Rocky Branch Schools and later married the love of her life Earl H. Black on February 6, 1953 in Muncie and he preceded her in death in 2011.  Mrs. Black had worked in the Dining Services of Ball State University for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1987.  She is a Charter Member of the River View United Baptist Church in Albany.  Clona loved her family and church and was dedicated to them both until her failing health hindered her from doing the things she loved. 

                Survivors include: three sons, Ron Black (wife-Linda) and Tony Black (wife-Deanne), both of Muncie and  Larry Black (wife-Caye), Bellbrook, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Michelle Crabtree, Ryan Skinner, Chris Black, Lauren Ringlespaugh, Jason , Corbin , Maggie  and Gracie Black; nine great grandchildren, Sydney and Noah McKibben, Grant, Hannah, Owen and Mason Skinner, Presley Black, Madelyn and Graham Ringlespaugh; two sisters, Velma Gregory, Muncie and Lois Sewell, Whitely City, Kentucky; three brothers, Vernon Bell (wife-Peggy,) Muncie, Doyle Bell (wife-Lavonne), Eaton and Andrew Phipps (wife-Shirlean), Muncie; special nieces, Sharon Hitchens, Jeni Paschall, Carolyn Dalton and Janet Coffey; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

                Besides her husband of 58 years Earl, she is preceded in death by a daughter Deborah in 2013; three sisters, Beulah Edwards, Sylvia Winchester and Kay Crisp; one brother Arnold bell.

                Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Dewayne Loveless officiating.  Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Friday morning, August 26, 2016, from 9:00 A.M. until service time.

                A special “thank you” to the Liberty Village Staff and Hospice Service for their Care and concern for Clona throughout her years as a resident there.
