Dona Faye (Canada) Bright

April 1, 1944 ~ October 19, 2016 (age 72) 72 Years Old

                Muncie-Dona Faye Bright, 72, passed away Wednesday evening, October 19, 2016, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.   She was born on April 1, 1944 in Muncie, the daughter of Cecil Canada and Laura (Waskom) Canada Carter and Harry Carter.

                Dona attended Muncie City Schools and later married the love of her life, Claude Bright on August 24, 1957 in Jeffersonville, Indiana and he survives.  Mrs. Bright had worked at Ball State University as a Cook for several of the dormitories until her retirement in 2006.   She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and was very involved serving the Riverview United Baptist Church having been a Sunday School Teacher, church Secretary, taught Vacation Bible School, the ladies circle and was called the “Flower Girl” because she would order the flowers for special occasions.  Mostly Dona enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.

                Besides her husband of 59 years, Claude, she is survived by one daughter, Kista Bright, Muncie; three sons, Allen Bright  , Randy “Scott” Bright (companion-Jenn) and Todd Bright (wife-Angie), all of Muncie; twenty grandchildren, Amanda, Casie (companion-Ricky), Gabby, Taylor (fiance-Nick), Logen, Jayla, Leah, Avery, Leon, Adison, Laela, Christopher, Jaleigha, Blayke, Khi, Isabella, Amiyah and Olivia; two sisters, Connie Amonett (husband-David) and Debra Carter, both of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

                She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sondra Moyer and Sharon Morton; one nephew, Larry Joe Bilbrey II.

                Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at the Riverview United Baptist Church which is located at 6601 Blacksmill Rd. Albany, IN 47320, with Pastor DeWayne Loveless officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.  Parson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Sunday, October 23, 2016, from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and again on Monday, October 24, 2016, at the church from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
