Muncie- Donald D. Gaw, 81, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on, January 10, 1936, in Co-op, Kentucky, the son of Adrian and Callie (Pryor) Gaw.
Mr. Gaw attended Muncie Central High School and later married the love of his life, his wife Flora (Clark) in 1957 and she preceded him in death in 2000. Mr. Gaw had worked for the Dr. Pepper Bottling, the Nickel Railroad but most recently, for Chevrolet in Muncie and later retiring in 1997 from Guide Lamp in Anderson after 34 years of service. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, the Westside Church of Christ where he taught bible classes, Donald really enjoyed studying the bible, Bass fishing, ham radio, working on Citizens Band Radios and other electronics. His handle was the “Handy man.” He and his wife would go to C.B. jamborees and coffee break meetings on Saturday’s.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Qualkenbush (husband-Greg), Mt. Summit; two sons, Randy Gaw, Muncie and Roger Gaw (companion-Holly), Parker City; four grandchildren, Amanda Rosinski, Anderson, Nick, Trevor and Jackson Qualkenbush, all of Mt. Summit; two great grandchildren, Savannah Rosinski and Logan Boots, both of Anderson; one sister, Sue Davis (husband-Tom), Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife of 43 years, Flora, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Roger Adrian Gaw, Jr. in 2010; one daughter-in-law, Kim Brown; his parents; six siblings, Musetta, Harold, James, Bill, Vera and Jack; two nephews, Daniel Davis and Leon Gaw; one great nephew, Matthew Sheffield; one sister-in-law, Nancy Gaw
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Mike Gors officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
