Donald Lee Norton

                Muncie-Donald Lee “Donnie” Norton, 75, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born on July 9, 1942 in Molus, Kentucky the son of Benjamin I.  And Anna Mae (Stewart) Norton.

                Donnie is a 1960 graduate of Union City Wayne High school, later he married the love of his life Nancy (Campbell) Norton on July 20, 1963 in Winchester and she survives.  Mr. Norton had worked in construction with the Hinshaw Building Construction Company and later worked for Muncie Chevrolet in the materials handling department for 28 ½ years before his retirement in 1993.  Since then he has owned and operated the Norton Electric Company.  Donnie had been a member of the United Auto Workers Union where he became a benefits rep., did various electrical side jobs.  He said of himself that” He was a Jack of all trades and a Master of none.”  Mr. Norton loved to be outdoors which included his avid interest in fishing, hunting, camping, the study of birds and various trees and of course going to his lake cottage.  Besides installing antennas and computers, fellow C.B.’ers would come to know him as knobby knees.

                Besides his wife of 54 years, Nancy, he is survived by one daughter, Donna Norton, Shepherdsville, Kentucky; one son, Donald L. “Lee” Norton II (wife-Candice) Hartford City; three grandchildren, Kaylee (Auker) Walters (husband-Shawn), Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Lincoln Auker (girl friend-Kate Masterson), Louisville, Kentucky and Matthew Norton, Dunkirk; one great grandson, Oliver Walters, Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two sisters, Teresa Miklos (husband-Jim), Indianapolis and Sandy Marcum, Sylacauga, Alabama; four brothers, Kenny Norton (wife-Peggy), Yuma, Arizona, Thomas Arnold Norton (wife-Susie), Union City, Ronnie Norton, Union City and Dannie Norton (wife-Brenda-Greenville, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Onie Norton, Winchester; several nieces and nephews.

                He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Billie Norton, one sister-in-law, Barbara Norton.

                Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Sam Schlott officiating.  Burial will follow at the Union City Cemetery.
