DR.  EDGAR (ED) S. WAGNER

   Muncie, IN. - Edgar S. Wagner 96, of Muncie, Indiana went home to meet his Lord on September 27, 2016.

   Edgar was born on March 15, 1920 in Perry County, Indiana to the late William and Anna (Daum) Wagner.

   After the death of his mother, Edgar went to live with his Aunt and Uncle, Walter and Fran Daum. He attended schools in Tell City, Anderson, and Shelbyville. Edgar married Lois Calvert of Shelbyville in 1942. Lois passed away in 1985. He married again to Norma Ewing Pence. She passed away in July of 2002. Edgar and Lois were unable to have children but they took delight in spending time with their nieces and nephews.

   Edgar attended Ball State Teachers College where he received his Masters Degree and later received his Doctorate Degree from Purdue University. Dr. Wagner taught high school in Alexandria and Elwood before becoming a professor at Ball State. He retired from Ball State University in 1984.

   He is survived by the children of his second wife, Fred Ewing (Brenda) of Levexa, KS; Elaine Fess (Steve) of Zionsville, IN; Sheila Bemiller (Gene) of Franklin, IN; Tom Pence (Meredith) of Milwaukee, WI; nieces and nephews, Judy Stapleton (Tom) of Muncie, IN; Peter Lux (Anna) of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia; Brent Calvert (Cherri) of Fishers, IN; niece, Carolyn Futrell (Bob) of Yorktown, IN; sisters-in-law, Patricia Miner (John) of Greencastle, IN; Jayne Smith of Anderson, IN.

   He is preceded in death by brothers and sistes-in-law, Leon and Marie Calvert; Peter and Leah Verne Lux; Dr. Paul Jarrett; niece, Martha Calvert Goodpaster.

   Visitation will be Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary and 10 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the church.

   Services will be Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Hazelwood Christian Church in Muncie, Indiana with Rev. Jason Jones officiating. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.

   Dr. Wagner was a long time member of Hazelwood Christian Church. In Lieu of flowers Edgar requested donations be made to Hazelwood Christian Church or to the Dr. Edgar S. Wagner Faculty Development Fund at Ball State University Foundation, PO Box 672, Muncie, IN. 47308
