Edith Florence (Poe) Sells

Muncie-Edith Florence Sells, 91, passed away late Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  She was born on April 17, 1926 in Ghent, Kentucky, the daughter of Herbert and Lily (Oresman) Poe.

Edith married Ernest Roy Sells in 1949 in Muncie and he preceded her in death in 1997.  Mrs. Sells had been a Master Beautician for 50 years having owned and operated Edith’s Beauty Shop.  She had been a member of the Southside Church of God for over 40 years and most recently the Pauline Avenue Church of God.   Edith had taught Bible School out of her home in the summers to neighborhood children.

Survivors include, one son, Roger Mefford (wife-Marilee ), Muncie; four grandchildren, Mark Mefford and Tim Mefford (wife-Bethanie), both of Anderson, Julie French Meece (husband-Phil) and Michael Mefford , both of Muncie; six great grandchildren; Bracken Mefford, Brennen Mefford, Alexis Mefford, Austin Mefford, Ciera Danielson and Dalton Danielson; two great , great grandchildren, Landon Powers and Kaiden Powers

Besides her husband of 48 years, Ernest, she is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Edward Poe.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor John Clegg officiating.  Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Friday, December 15, 2017, from 9:00 A.M. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
