Elsie Rachel (Todd) Stevens

Elsie Rachel Stevens, 92, Muncie, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 30, 2015.

            Our sweet mother and Nanny has gone to heaven where she will be greeted by many who love her while leaving behind many that loved her here.  She was loved by all and her beautiful smile will never be forgotten.

            She was born December 29, 1922 in Oden, Indiana, the daughter of the late Eschol John and Nancy Ellen (Billings) Todd.  She was a 1940 graduate of Clay City High School, Clay City, Indiana. 

            Survivors include a son, John E. Stevens, Orlando, FL; one daughter, Connie Jett, (husband-John Sr.), Muncie, IN; five grandchildren, John Jett Jr., (wife-Cynthia), Cowan, IN; Tim Stevens, Orlando, FL; John Henry Stevens, (wife-Alisha), Muncie, IN; Rachel Padgett, (husband-Tim), Muncie, IN; and Leesa Estep, (husband-David), Selma, IN; eight great-grandchildren, Sara and Hana Padgett; Kaitlyn White; Ashley Stevens; Lyndsey and Levi Estep; Jayden and Calynn Jett; and several nieces and nephews.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, Eschol and Nancy Todd; husband, John Stevens; one brother, John Lemuel Todd; three sisters, Ettamae Todd Wesley; Mary Dawson; and Charlotte Floyd.

            Services will be held at Sound the Alarm Church at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 with Pastors Jerry Miller and Joey Prewitt officiating.

Calling will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.  Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Sound the Alarm Church in memory of Elsie R. Stevens.
