Fred B. Henderson, 93, passed away on March 11, 2018 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. Fred was born in French Lick, Indiana, on August 22,1924 to Myrtle (Brown) and Harry Henderson. Fred graduated from Muncie Central High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946 being awarded several medals of decoration including two Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He married Ruth Atkins in 1947 and They spent 59 years together until her death in October of 2006.
Fred worked at Marsh Supermarkets, Stoops Automotive and Burl Motor Freight in Parts Management before his retirement. The family would like to thank Lori and Tim Lewis for being caregivers to Fred.
Fred Is Survived by Four Nieces; Joyce Weaver, Bonnie Burk (Husband-Bob), Debbie Covington (Husband-Larry), Amy Gordon (Husband-Tom), three Nephews; Rick Henderson (Wife-Pam), Terry Henderson (Wife-Joan), Dan Henderson (Wife- Betty), with many Great Nieces and Nephews.
Fred Was Preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, Niece Phyllis Titamer and Two Brothers; Lester Henderson and Arthur Henderson.
Military Services Will Be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, North Chapel, 4600 W Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, with the Delaware County Honor Guard and the United States Department of the Army conducting military honors for Mr. Henderson.
