GLADYS  (DAVIS)  HISLE

   Muncie, IN. - Gladys (Davis) Hisle, 92, of Muncie, Indiana passed peacefully to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

   Gladys was born in Jonesville, Kentucky on January 2, 1924 to the late William H. and Ollie (Cammack) Davis.

   She came to Indiana in 1945. Gladys was a member of Truelight Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. She was a woman of great strength and always spoke of the “deep settled peace” she had through her faith in Christ. She also found great joy in being a homemaker. She was blessed to still be taking care of her home until her passing. Gladys had many dear friends and will be missed greatly.

   She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 45 years, Thomas Hisle; son, Danny Hisle; brothers, John F. Davis, Luke E. Davis, Pat N. Davis; sisters, Norma Lee West, Louella Tuggle, Lena Huffman, Myrtle Snyder, and Mary A. Hisle.

   Gladys is survived by her son, Tim and his wife, Juli of Muncie, IN; grandson, Jonathan of Chicago, IL; sister, Louise Woodard of Yorktown, IN; sister-in-law, Shirley Davis of New Castle, IN; step-son, David Hisle and his wife, Betty; step-daughter, Virginia Marcum; step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

   Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 12:30 until the time of service on Tuesday at Truelight Baptist Church, 805 North Country Club Road, Muncie, Indiana.

   Services will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. at the church with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.

   Memorial contributions may be made to Truelight Baptist Church or to the Heart Foundation of Delaware County.
