Hazel Dortha (Hooten) Ledbetter

July 10, 1919 ~ December 2, 2017 (age 98) 98 Years Old

                Muncie-Hazel Dortha (Hooten) Ledbetter, 98, went to be with Jesus Saturday, December 2, 2017.  She was born at Jamestown, Tennessee on July 10, 1919.  A long time resident of Muncie, where, she was well known for her open door and generous heart.

                She was first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel.  An awesome mom and wife. 

                She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Balem Caster Ledbetter; two daughters, Claudia Nowanda Ledbetter and Bonnie Gail Ledbetter Booher and her parents.

                She is survived by four sons; Edward Jackson Ledbetter (wife-Nancy), Clarksville, Tennessee, Jerry R. Ledbetter (wife-Georgia), Muncie, William Roger Ledbetter (wife-Ella Mae), Jamestown, Tennessee and Balem Dale Ledbetter (wife-Dianna), Cookville, Tennessee; two daughters, Frances Jo Harrell (husband-Russ), Georgia and Polli Ann Craft (husband-Jimmy), Mississippi; several grandchildren , great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

                The family would like to extend many thanks for the caregivers, Lorena Jefferies, Leola Jones, Mary Banks and Chrystal Butler.

                A special thanks to the Family Physicians; Dr. Scott Walker and wife Pam, Dr. Simon and the many doctors who have given comfort to mom and this family, over these many years.

                Thanks for all the friends who have visited, laughed, sang and prayed with our mother.  She’s shouting on the hills of Glory!

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, December 5, 2017; from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Parson Mortuary is in charge of the local arrangements.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017, 12:00 P.M. at the Jennings Funeral Home 414 N. Mains St. Jamestown, Tennessee 38556.

Visitation will be held at the Jennings Funeral Home on Friday morning, from 10:00 A.M. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
