Jeanie Hitchens

Muncie- Jeanette “Jeanie” Hitchens, 71, was called home to our Lord on March 31, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Muncie. Jeanie was born on November 29, 1945, the daughter of Chester and Leila Burden.

Jeanette grew up and lived in Muncie her entire life. She attended Muncie Central High School. She owned The Hitching Post with her late husband Dan.  Jeanie loved to travel, going to bingo with her mother and feeding the animals that would visit her home.

Surviving family include her sons John (Debbie) Hale, Jim (Diana) Hale, daughter Jodi (Daniel Nichols) Dishmon,  stepdaughters Heather Smith and Andrea (Jo) Ober, sister Gloria Bainter, Step sister Nancy (Steve) Groman, and brother in law Bob (Eloise) Hitchens. Grandchildren Amber, Brittney, Casey, Miah, Tiffany, Johnny, Timber, Megan, James, Ryan and Mindy and many great grandchildren.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her husband Dan Hitchens, her father, mother and step father Leila and Donald Logan, brothers Jerry and Larry Burden, sister and brother in law Carolyn and Jack Neal, brother in law Mark Hitchens and her beloved dog Sadie.

Funeral Services will be on Friday April 7, 2017 at 1:00 P.M at Parson Mortuary with Rusty Clements officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M until service time on Friday. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery.
