Muncie, IN. - John P. Farrell, 88, of Muncie, Indiana passed away on May 9, 2016 in Muncie, Indiana at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
John was born in Muncie, Indiana on September 22, 1927 to the late Harry and Beatrice (Windmiller) Farrell.
He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1945. John retired as an Engineer after working 25 years for General Motors. John was a member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie 1291.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Norma Lee Farrell; second wife, Josephine Ann (Hellis) Farrell; sister, Thelma Collins; brother, William “Bill” Farrell.
John is survived by his sons, Richard Nixon and his wife, Shirley of Noblesville, IN; Steve Nixon and his wife, Linda of Louisville, KY; Dan Farrell and his wife, Sondra of Muncie, IN; John Farrell and his wife Tammie of Frankfort, IN; sister, Rose Casada of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Alaina Nixon, Adrienne Nixon, Janae Ledbetter, Dena Sapp, Lisa Farrell; great-grandchildren, Tyler Sapp, Kayla Williams, Cameron Ledbetter, Elizabeth Ledbetter.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary.
Services will be Friday, May 13, 2016 at 12 P.M. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Dave Hellmann officiating.
Memorial contribution may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church Lunch Program.
