Muncie, IN. - Leslie E. Jones Jr., 82, of Muncie, Indiana passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital.
Leslie was born in Muncie, Indiana on April 3, 1933 to the late Leslie Sr. and Adle (Mathis) Jones
He graduated from Royerton High School. He retired from Delco Battery after 40 years of service. Leslie had served in the United States Navy for four years. He was a member of Living Waters Church of Muncie, IN. Leslie loved to sing gospel music and had been in three groups; “Heaven Sent”, “The Three Seaman”, and his favorite “Pappy and the Kid” with his granddaughter. He also loved to witness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Doris Adkins.
Leslie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Jones; children, Randy Jones and his wife, Denise of Anderson, IN; Scott Jones and his wife, Sharon of Muncie, IN; brother, Larry Jones and his wife, Paula of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Amanda Rudy, Cody Jones; step- grandchildren, Ashley Yocum, Tyler Jones; great- grandchildren, Abby Rudy, Jaxon Rudy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary.
Services will be Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 1 P.M. at the mortuary with Pastor Bill McCoy officiating. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Fund.
