Letha Mae (Howery) Manlove-Hendershot

October 27, 1932 ~ August 8, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Letha Mae (Howery) Manlove-Hendershot, 84, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Muncie, Indiana. She was born on October 27, 1932 in Goodrich, Kansas to Harley and Ruth (Wurtz) Howery. Her family moved to Tipton, Indiana, when she was 15 years old. At the age of 17 she accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior.  She graduated from Tipton High School in 1950.  She married Max Eugene Manlove on May 27, 1951.  They moved to Muncie, Indiana, where they established their home and family. She was a home maker and did a variety of jobs throughout her life. She retired from Life Touch (Prestige Portraits) after working there for over 20 years. She married Lawrence (Brownie) Hendershot on August 4, 2001.

                                                                                             

Letha was active in church and was a member of New Horizon Church of the Nazarene in Muncie, IN. She was a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer for many years.

 

Letha is survived by 3 sons: Nathan E. Manlove (wife, Jana), Noblesville, IN; Jeffrey L. Manlove (wife, Rebecca), Decatur, IN; and Daniel W. Manlove (wife, Loretta), Indianapolis, IN; two granddaughters: Melissa Geiger, Nokomis, FL; and Megan Manlove, Honolulu, Hawaii; three brothers: Alfred Howery, Tipton, IN; Eldon Howery, Joplin, MO; and David Howery, Crofton, KY; two sisters: Lela (Fern) Heilman, Onalaska, TX; and Linda Hudson, Tipton, IN.

 

She is also survived by three step-sons: Stephen Hendershot (wife, Judy), Sun City, Arizona; Paul Hendershot (wife, Nancy), Boulder City, NV; and James Hendershot (companion, Colleen Dailey), Muncie, IN; two step-daughters, Annis Aumann, Overland Park, KS; and Juanita Ruth Mullins, Muncie, IN.

 

Letha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence Hendershot and first husband Max Manlove; one daughter, Deborah Manlove; one brother, Larry Howery; three sisters Helen Diedel, Louise Jones, and Lois Grose; half-brother Walter Diedel.

 

Services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Konkel officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memories Cemetery.
 

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
