Muncie-Librada (Garza) Porter, 61, passed away Monday morning at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on March 30, 1957, in Laredo, Texas, the daughter of Refugio David and Paula (Guevara) Garza.
Following high school graduation Librada attended Purdue University for two years and later married the love of her life, Ron Porter on November 25, 1979, in Jeffersonville, Indiana and he survives. Mrs. Porter had been a homemaker. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church when her health permitted. Librada enjoyed sketching, and painting but, mostly found joy in her many stuffed animals, especially Koala Bears.
Besides her husband of 38 years, Ron, she is survived by her mother, Paula G. Garza, Laredo, Texas; three sisters, Lucia De La Cruz (husband-Louis), Angeline Garza and Fatima (Rosemary) Huda (husband-Kamar), all of Houston, Texas; one brother, David Garza, Conroe, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018, 10:00 A.M. with Father Andrew Dudzinski officiating at the Parson Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Beech Grove Cemetery.
