Lola Mae Slaven

August 26, 1932 ~ October 2, 2015 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Muncie – Lola Mae Slaven, 83, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 2, 2015 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

            She was born August 26, 1932 in Jamestown, TN the daughter of Adam and Maudie (Pennycuff) Wilson.  She loved being a homemaker and in 1962 the family moved to Muncie, IN.  She shared the love of visiting flea markets and antiquing with her husband, Knox Slaven, and she also enjoyed sewing and making pillows and blankets.  During the earlier years of their marriage Lola and Knox enjoyed singing southern gospel music in local churches.

            Lola and Knox Slaven (deceased) were wed on April 30, 1960 and they were married for 47 years.

            She is survived by one daughter, Brenda White, (husband-John), Hendersonville, TN; four sons, Donald Wilson, (wife-Sandra), Jamestown, TN; Ronald Wilson, (wife-Deborah), Daleville, IN; Eddie Slaven, (wife-Chris), Yorktown, IN; and David Slaven, (wife-Jennifer), Muncie, IN; ten grandchildren, LeSamara Oliver, Adam White, Jonas White, Rachel Long, (husband-Brent), Greg Owens, Brian Wilson, Reah Oswalt, (husband-Asa), Devin Slaven, Lauren Slaven, and Michael Slaven; fifteen great-grandchildren, Ashlynne Wilson, Airien Wilson, Kelsee Wilson, Katlynn Wilson, Kiera Wilson, Mark Wilson, Keith Wilson, Briana Burton, Bethany Burton, Braelyn Burton, Gracie Oswalt, Madalyn Owens, Zoe Owens, Charlotte Long, Ben Long; and one great-great-grandchild, Abriella Smith.

            Lola was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Oakley Wilson, Fred Wilson, Porter Wilson; and one sister, Thelma King.

            Services will be held at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 with Pastor Kal Rissman officiating.

            Calling will be at the mortuary on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. preceding the service.

            Memorial contributions can be made to Our Blessed Savior Lutheran Church, Alexandria, IN.  Envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
