Muncie, IN. - Lucy G. Phillips, 99, of Muncie, Indiana passed away on June 19, 2016 at Middletown Nursing Home.
Lucy was born in Bethel, Indiana on September 1, 1916 to the late Chester B. and Ruby (Hosier) Jackson.
She attended and graduated from Harrison Township School and Muncie Business College for a year. She was a member of Oldtown Hill Baptist Church and was active in the Prayer Band and the Happy Hearts. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and also worked in sales for a retail clothing store.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Carl Cooper; brothers, Cleo, Herman, and Everett Jackson;
Lucy is survived by her children, Ronald Cooper Of Alexandria, Louisiana; Richard Phillips of Muncie, Indiana; Daniel Phillips of Muncie, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Brenda Phillips; grandchildren, Leslie Puckett and her husband, John; Scott Cooper and his wife, Sheila; Amy (Masters) Padgett and her husband, Rob; Carrie Orme; Sarah Beeson and her husband, Ben; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary.
Services will be on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10 A.M. at the mortuary with Pastor Jim Ballenger officiating. Burial will be at Elm ridge Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
