Mary P. Lynn

Muncie- Mary P.  Lynn, 90, entered into Heaven on Thursday evening, September 22, 2016, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness where she was met by her husband Elmer and two beautiful grandchildren David Lynn and Monica Brown.  She was born on May 11, 1926 in Muncie, the daughter of Jesse Bartlett and Edna (Anthony) Bartlett Thompson.

                Mary married the love of her life, Elmer Lynn in 1947 in Georgia and he preceded her in death in 2005.  Mrs. Lynn became a homemaker.  She taught Sunday school for 50 years at the Northview Wesleyan Church where she had been a member.  Mary loved to go to church, listening to gospel music, was quite the cook specializing in making noodles but, mostly, she loved being with her family!               Survivors include, two daughters, Karen Torres and Dianna Clifford (husband-Marshall), both of Muncie; four sons, Mark Lynn (wife-Charlene), Robert Lynn “Bob” (wife- Sandra), Michael Lynn (companion Rick) and Steve Lynn (wife- Sandy), all of Muncie; sixteen grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren; seven great,  great, grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Milton, Muncie; one brother, James Bartlett (wife-Earnestine), Muncie; two sisters-in-law, Clara Phelps, Muncie and Cora Stewart, Mooresville.

                Besides her husband of 58 years, Elmer and two grandchildren, she is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Morgan and Irene Pearson; two brothers, Fred Bartlett and Earnest Bartlett.

                Funeral services will held at the Northview Wesleyan Church 1500 Cowing W. Drive, Muncie, IN 47304, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Walter Wilson of Northview Wesleyan Church  and John L. Smith Prayer House of Deliverance COGIC,  officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.  Local arrangements are being handled by the Parson Mortuary.

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the Northview Wesleyan Church.

                A special thank you goes to all the staff of the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital of Muncie and the Indiana University Hospital and their Hospice group and the Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis for all of their gracious care and support during this time of convalescents.
