Muncie- Mary D. Parks, 66, passed away early Saturday morning, March 25, 2017, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on, May 25, 1950, in Muncie, the daughter of Leo A. and Gladys L. (Griffith) Mills.
Mary attended Muncie Southside High School and later married the love of her life James R. Parks on, September 30, 1988, in Muncie and he survives. Mrs. Parks had owned and operated her own beauty shop in her home and also the Heavenly Flower Shop. She had attended the Church of God of Prophecy and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Besides her husband of 28 years, James, she is survived by three sons, Rick Waters (wife-Kamala), Muncie, Johnny Parks (wife-Debby), Selma and Jimmy Parks , Marion, Ohio; two daughters, Jama Beaty (husband-Floyd), Muncie and Shelly Brown- King, Bluffton; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one on the way; four siblings.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sibling; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Parks.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Ann Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
