Nancy E. (Minton) McKeighen

                Muncie- Nancy E. (Minton) McKeighen, 72, passed away early Saturday morning, August 27, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born June 23, 1944 in Muncie, the daughter of Jacob and Burnice (Timmons) Minton, Sr.

                Nancy attended Muncie City Schools and later married the love of her life, Frederick L. McKeighen December 14, 1960, in Muncie and he preceded her in death in 1999.  Mrs. McKeighen worked in the cafeteria at Morrison Mock for several years until 1984. To say that Nancy was a fan of Elvis Presley is an understatement!  She was very involved in the Elvis Foundation which is a non-profit group set up to keep all things Elvis remembered and was even featured in the Muncie Star Press at one time regarding it.  Mrs. McKeighen was known to be a fabulous Cook and loved going to church to worship regardless of the denomination.

                Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Ann McKeighen, Muncie; one son, Frederick L. (Derick) McKeighen, Jr. Muncie; two grandchildren, Brian Cox (wife-Crystal), Bloomington and Ellen Cox, Anderson, one great granddaughter, EmiLee Joan Cox, Anderson;  two brothers, Clarence Minton (wife-Shirley), Jackson, Georgia and Archie Minton (wife-Tereasa), Muncie; six sisters, Carolyn Swearingen,         , , JoAnn Huser (husband-Chuck) and Vicki West (husband-Gerald),all of Muncie, Pat Sherwood (husband-Troy), Wausau,  Wisconsin, Phyllis Preston, Summerville, South Carolina and Mary Farling (Husband-Rev. David) Anderson ; several nieces and nephews.

                Besides her husband of 39 years, Fred, she is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles Minton and Jacob and his wife Diann Minton; one sister, Esther Brogan.

                Funeral services will be held o Tuesday, August 30, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Rev. David Farling officiating.  Burial will follow at the Beech Grove Cemetery.

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
