Pastor Robert "Bob" Hunt Obituary

                Muncie-Pastor Robert P. “Bob” Hunt, 74, following his faith received the promised gift of eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ upon his transitioning to his new home late Friday evening, June 1, 2018, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  He was born on January 16, 1944, in Muncie, the son of Robert Paul and Georgia Frances (Hickey) Hunt.  He was known by many to be a loving husband, brother, father, uncle, papau, friend and Pastor.

                Robert is a 1962 graduate of Muncie Central High School and later had training in various capacities such as HVAC and also had gone through a course of training through the United Methodist Church.   He married Pastor Nancy (Whittig) Cole Hunt on December 31, 1994 in Muncie and she survives.  Besides being a retired local United Methodist Pastor having served the East Main Street United Methodist Church, most recently the Garden of the East Main Street Church for 17 years, he is also retired from Delco Battery and the Indiana Vocational Technical College as a department supervisor in their custodial and maintenance departments.

                Robert is a past member of the Indiana Executive Housekeepers Association, the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church East District, was active with the Madison Street United Methodist Church having served as a Trustee, a lay member to the annual conference and was an adult assistance with the Kids Club.  Mr. Hunt was active in the Boy Scouts of America especially the Mayfield addition Troop.  He enjoyed bowling, fishing, rabbit hunting, traveling especially to his place of peace of the Chapman Lake where he wasn’t the best Skipper of the boat.

                Besides his wife of 23 years, Nancy he is survived by his children, Renee Christy Hunt Kurfuss, Stacy Lynn Hunt Doyle (Joe), Jason Paul Hunt, Vickie reed Dujmovich (Mike), Brian Cole (LeAnne), Michael Cole, Deanna Cole Hinds( Johnny), his grandchildren, John Malcolm Hinds III (Regena), Steven Hinds, Joshua, Jacob, Brittany, Devon, Zachary, Collin, Aleah, Colin, Kate his great grandchildren, Lillie, Tinsley, Jake, Wyatt, Hannah ,and Lev, Cassie and Arabella; one brother, William “Bill” Hunt, Wife Judy);two sisters, Phyllis Hunt Collins (Jack) and Patricia Hunt Nichols (Ron); several nieces and nephews.

                He is preceded in death by one son, Brian Hunt, his parents, one nephew, Brice Nichols.

                Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, 1:00 P.M.  At the Garden at Main Street United Methodist Church located at 801 E. Main St. Muncie, IN 47305, with Rev. Vickie Perkins and Pastor Tony Collins officiating.  Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.  Parson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

                Friends may call at the Garden at Main Street United Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
