Muncie-Phyllis Jean Williams, 88, passed away Monday evening, April 9, 2018, at Willow Bend Health Care Center follow an extended Illness. She was born on, August 7, 1929, in Muncie, the daughter of John and Eva Jeanette (Timmons) Whitman.
Phyllis is a 1947 graduate of Alexandria High School and later married the love of her lifeGlenn Williams on July 12, 1947 in Alexandria and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2016. Mrs. Williams became a homemaker and attended Shawnee Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching television ministry programming and gardening. Mostly, Phyllis treasured the times when she and her family were together and doing her family genealogy.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Williams (companion-Carol Richardson), John Williams (wife- Marita), both of Muncie and Roger Glenn Williams (wife-Sun), Carmel; one daughter Jo Etta Eccles, North Webster; thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Harvey, Bluffton.
Besides her husband of 69 years, Glenn, she is preceded in death by parents, one son-in-law, Jerry Eccles; one brother-in-law, Maurice Harvey; one sister, Bernice Garner.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Dennis Hammons officiating at the Parson Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
