Ralph Darrell Wormer

     Ralph Darrell Wormer, 89, Muncie, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Signature Health Care, Muncie, Indiana.

     He was born December 30, 1928 in Eaton, Indiana, the son of the late Elmer and Lola (Denton) Wormer.  Mr. Wormer attended Muncie Schools and was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War.  He retired from Indiana Gas (Vectren Gas) in 1990 after 41 years of service.  Following his retirement at the gas company Darrell worked as carry-out at Marsh Supermarket (Tillotson Ave.), as the custodian at the Federal Building in Muncie, and then as the head custodian at Glad Tidings Church in Muncie until he officially retired in 2005 due to his declining health.

     He is survived by his wife, Crystal Wormer; his children, Randy Wormer (wife, Rita)-Blountsville, IN; Mike Wormer (wife, Marcia)-Sarasota, FL; Lori Ramsey (husband, Reeder)-Muncie, IN; and Shannon Wormer-Muncie, IN; five grandchildren, Brandon Wormer (wife, Dawn)-Columbus, IN; Nick Ramsey (fiancé, Meghan Fallis)-Muncie, IN; Brian Ramsey (wife, Annie)-Muncie, IN; Sara Holt (husband, Kyle)-Muncie, IN; and Brayden Wormer-Muncie, IN; six great-grandchildren, Rylan, Reegan, and Riston Wormer-Columbus, IN; and Eden, Iris, and Amos Holt-Muncie, IN; one sister, Judy Wyatt (husband, Edward)-Muncie, IN; sister-in-law, Louise Lindsay-Florida; and a brother-in-law, Danny Whitmire (wife, Shirley)-Plymouth, IN.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lola Wormer; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Wormer; son, Jeffrey Allen Wormer; granddaughter, Malia Wormer; great-granddaughter, Alana Grace Wormer; two brothers, Walter Wormer, and William F. Lindsay; and his sister, Betty Younkin.

     Services will be held at Glad Tidings Church, 3001 S. Burlington Drive, Muncie, at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018, with Pastors Kevin and Kyle Holt officiating.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Delaware County Honor Guard immediately following the service at the church.

     Calling will be at the church from 2:00 p.m. on Friday until the time of service.
