Ray Stanley

November 25, 1934 ~ May 16, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Ray E. Stanley, 82, passed away Tuesday evening, May 16, 2017 at Indiana University Ball Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on November 25, 1934 in Muncie Indiana the son of Oliver Perry and Ruby L. (Oliver) Stanley.

Ray attended Muncie City Schools and later married Barbara Jean (Needham) Stanley in 1954 and she preceded him in death in 2003. He then married Paula (Cox) Stanley on May 28, 2005 and she survives. Ray had served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Philippines of the Sea. He had retired from Delco-Battery after 38 years of service as a general laborer. Ray was a member of the Delco-Battery Sympathy Club and the United Auto Workers Union. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, bowling, playing cards and aggravation. He most enjoy being a grandpa/Granddad.

Ray and Barbara were married 49 years, he is survived by 3 loving children; Perry, Mike and Karen and 7 grandchildren; Brenda Stanley (Indpls) Perry Stanley Jr. (Muncie) Matt Nunley (wife Marie) Ridgeville, Jacobb Stanley (Ridgeville) Christian Stanley (fiancé Scott Sims) Eaton Ohio, Paul Storms (wife Trinity) Greenfield, and Brigitte Storms (Muncie) He proudly had 13 great grandchildren Gabe, Arial, Chris, Ciera, Cayden, Brooklynn, Paul Jr., Jada, Kalep, Ethan Josiah, Travis, Jeremy and his best friend Carl Cruz. Ray has 2 surviving sisters Wilma and Lois, 4 brothers Bill, Gene, George, Bill Wilson (wife Bonnie) and several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his wife of 12 years Paula (Cox) Stanley and her two children Robert L. Wade (Muncie) and Betty A. Wade (Husband Pea) and 6 step grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by one sister Geraldine and one brother Richard (Dickie)

Friends may call at Parsons Mortuary Sunday May 21, 2017 from 11:00 A.M until service time. Funeral services will be held Sunday May 21, 2017 at 1:00 P.M at Parson Mortuary. Private family burial will follow on Monday May 22, 2017 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
