Richard "Dick" J. Lee

     Richard “Dick” J. Lee, 91, our wonderful loving Christian father, who was a great example to his children, joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June, 12, 2010, at Ball Memorial Hospital.
     Born November 11, 1918, to Clarence A. and Carrie (Maize) Lee, they moved from Covington, KY, to Muncie, IN. He attended Muncie schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School.
     He served in the Army during World War II in the European and the South Pacific Theatres
     Dick was employed prior to World War II at Ball Corporation. He worked as a union carpenter after the war, then retired from Chevrolet Muncie after twenty years of employment in 1984, where he was a member of the United Auto Workers and the Carpenters Union.  
     Dick was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where he had been active on the church board, was a Sunday School Teacher, and a Youth Leader through the years. 
     His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and helping families in need with his carpentry work. Through all his work and church activities he touched many lives and will be remembered for his generosity and kindness.
     Surviving are his son, Gerry J. Lee, (wife, Linda Lindsay Lee), Clearwater, FL; his daughter, Carolyn Sue Johnson, (husband, Ed), Fishers, IN; four grandchildren, Christopher B. “Drue” Lee, (wife, Amanda), Clearwater, FL,  Lindsay LaBree Hans, (husband, Joe), Tampa, FL, Matthew E. Johnson, (wife, Lynzie), Noblesville, IN, and Joshua M. Johnson, (wife, Angel), Akron, OH;  two great grandchildren, Christopher Milan M. Lee, Clearwater, FL, and Jack E. Johnson, Noblesville, IN. Also surviving are his brother, Raymond J. Lee, (wife, Billie), Selma, IN; several nieces and nephews; and through the years many friends, including his loving friend, Ann Barr.
     He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years, Vivian Catherine Lee, whom he loved dearly who expired in 1993; his son, Milan L. Lee, who died in the VietNam Conflict in 1970; three brothers, Robert, Edward and Austin Lee; and two sisters, Syvilla “Betty” Jane Terry, Evelyn Vice.
     The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary and an hour prior to the services at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church on Tuesday.
     Remembrance Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 3001 Burlington, Muncie, IN, with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.
