Muncie-Ricky L. Stephens, 60, passed away early Friday morning, May 6, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on July 22, 1955, in Muncie, the son of Floyd Leamon and Betty Jean (Guinn) Stephens. Mr. Stephens graduated from Muncie City Schools and obtained additional training afterward. Ricky married the love of his life, April (Yates) Stephens on April 19, 1980 in Grimsley, Tennessee and she survives. He had worked in construction for Local 1112 and was their auditor for 3 years, later he drove charter buses for Four Star Charter Bus Company for 7 years prior to his disability. Mr. Stephens enjoyed drawing and painting Christmas scenes on some of the area businesses. Time spent with his family was very precious to him especially when they would plan family vacations. Besides his wife of 36 years, April, he is survived by one daughter, Amanda Stephens-Gonzalez (husband-Ricky), Muncie; one son, Taylor Stephens (wife-C.J.), Cowan; five grandchildren, Austin, Jaylah, Rylan, Taylin and Kegan; one sister, Beverly Bilbrey (husband- Larry), Muncie; one brother, Duane Taylor Stephens (wife-Claudia), Eaton; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Terri Stephens. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Kyle Holt officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
