Robert "Bob" L. DeBord

                Muncie-Robert “Bob” L. DeBord, 80, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 3, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born on April 26, 1937, in Muncie, the son of Robert and Lois (Moore) DeBord.

                Bob is a 1955 graduate of Royerton High School and later attended both Ball State University and the Indiana Business College.  He married the love of his life, Sally (Fisher) DeBord on May 2, 1959 at the Eden Church.  Mr. DeBord had worked for Marhoeffer Meat Packing Company for 20 years as a Sales Supervisor and later retired from Farm Bureau Insurance Company as an Insurance Agent after 22 years of service.  He had been a member of the Eaton Church of God where he had served on the board of trustees and was a choir member.  Mr. DeBord currently is a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and has helped with the funeral dinners and involved in the Small Group Ministry.  Bob enjoyed golfing.    Spending time with his children and grand children was very precious to him.

                Besides his wife of 58 years, Sally, he is survived by, one daughter, Kara Smith, Indianapolis; two sons, Dr. Jeff DeBord (Jill), Danville, Illinois and Dr. Kurt DeBord (Wayne Mayfield), Columbia, Missouri; five grandchildren, Cameron, Kennedy, Karly, Madeline and Mollie; one sister, Sue Elliott, Yorktown; one sister-in-law, Marge Wright, Muncie; one brother-in-law, Rex Clark, Albany; several nieces and nephews; Special friends  and care givers, Richard and Beth Hall, Muncie.

                He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters-in-law, Sara DeMunda and Linda Clark; one brother-in-law, Gordon Elliott.

                Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church 3001 Burlington, Muncie, IN 47302, with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie. Military honors will be rendered by the Delaware County Honor Guard.

                Friends may call at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church on Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
