Sarah Carol Choate

Muncie- Sarah C. Choate 77, passed away Monday afternoon, August 14, 2017, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  She was born on May 27, 1940 in Jamestown, Tennessee the daughter of William and Pearl (Dodson) Willis.

                Carol attended Jamestown city schools and later married the love of her life, Willie A. Choate on August 21, 1959 in Jamestown and he preceded her in death on December 10, 2012.  Mrs. Choate had cleaned the offices for N & G Gilbert now known as the Townsend Tree Services for approximately 20 years prior to her retirement in 1997.  She was a member of the Fairlawn Church of Christ.  To say she was a good cook is an understatement!  She specialized in chicken and dumplings and many other scrumptious things too many to name.  Carol enjoyed doing embroidery and especially the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

                Survivors include, two daughters, Donna Jones (husband-Robert), Muncie and Tonyia Gonzalez (husband-Steve), Lansing , Michigan; three grandchildren, Sarah Jackson (husband-Mike), William Jones (wife-Erica), Mary Rutherford, all of Muncie; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Lena McBee, Sewanee, Tennessee and Joan Favala, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

                Besides her husband of 53 years, Willie, she is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Jerry Willis.

                Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Jack Abels officiating.  Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Friday, August 18, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
