Delores A. Hartman Palmer, 85, of Muncie and formerly of Ft. Meyers, Florida passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at Morrison Woods after an extended illness. She was born January 21, 1927 in Herrin, Illinois to Eugene and Ada (Brown) Hanks. Delores graduated from Herrin High School in Illinois. She was a homemaker and she was very active and supportive of her husband Leon who was a United Methodist minister for 50
years and had been the district superintendent in Muncie. Delores was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and PTO.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years Leigh Palmer; Dallas, Texas, son Stephen Hartman; Lapel, daughters Marcy Moore; Lapel, Leigh Wright (husband-Roger); Muncie, grandchildren Mary Beth Woehrle (husband-Rick); Noblesville, Heather Rusche (husband-Mike); Lapel, Hilary Eppert (husband-Ryan); Lapel, Benjamin Wright,; Muncie, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Ada Hanks, her husband of 52 years Leon Hartman and her brother Curtis Hanks
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Parson Mortuary with Rev. Charlotte Overmyer officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Parson Mortuary and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
