Stevan Jeep, 64, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at his home in Elkhart. He was born June 12, 1948, in Muncie, the son of Louis and Mary Kathleen Collins Jeep.
Stevan graduated in 1966 from Ft. Wayne North Side High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1967 to 1971. His favorite assignment was serving in the Honor Guard. He loved purchasing new and colorful cars including a purple duster and a bright yellow cutlass. Stevan spent many hours fishing at Corey Lake. He often talked about his fish finder, which told him exactly where to find the fish. He always caught his limit. His most recent passion was his affiliation with two gun clubs, Midwest Gun Range in Elkhart and Monroe Conservation Club in Mt. Pleasant, and making his own ammunition. He spent many hours target shooting and wagering twenty-five cent competitions with his buddy Estel Hines.
His two long-term hobbies were photography and building computers. His two eldest nephews knew him as “Steve Austin, the six million dollar man.” Stevan worked for Bayer/Seiman for over thirty-five years.
Surviving is a sister, Susie Cooper, (husband, Scott), Muncie; a niece, Carol Dingle, (husband, Walter Lee); three nephews, Clay Cooper, (wife, Sharon), Scott Cooper, (wife, Sharon), and Mitch Cooper, (wife, Andrea); his great nieces and nephews, Christopher McGee, Kendall Cooper, Melanie Cooper, Jessie Cooper, Colin Dingle, Lillian Dingle, Austin Cooper, Caleb Cooper, and Caden Cooper; and his special friends, Alana Willis, Danny and Carolyn Mesick, and Estel and Rollie Hines.
Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Paul Pletcher officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard following the services at the mortuary.
Memorials may be sent to Delaware County Triad, 8705 W. Lone Beech Drive, Muncie, IN 47304.
