Muncie-Essie L. Bartlett, 86, passed away Thursday evening, November 22, 2012, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on March 17, 1927, in Ashland, Kentucky, the daughter of Wiser and Alice (Roman) Gallion.
          Essie had attended Ashland, Kentucky city schools and later married the love of her life, William “Bill” Bartlett in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1992.  Mrs. Bartlett had been self employed as a Care Giver for 40 plus years prior to her retirement. She was a member of North Delaware Baptist Church. Essie enjoyed doing crocheting, cooking and feeding everyone in need.   Special thank you are extended to both the congregation of the North Delaware Baptist Church and Cathy who was one of the nurses on the Oncology floor of Ball Memorial Hospital for all their special care during Essie’s convalescents.
          Survivor’s include, her niece, Janet Potter, Ashland, Kentucky; one sister, Ruth Messamore (husband-Bill),Kentucky; one brother, Sam Gallion (wife-Arlene),Kentucky; two special friends, Lori Perry (husband-Trent) and Pat Conn (husband-Jack), both of Muncie; several nieces and nephews and special friends.
          Besides her husband of over 40 years, “Bill”, she is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
          Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon, November 27, 2012, 1:00 P.M. with Pastor James Marlow, Deacon Dale Trego and Deacon Amos Rogers officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, 1:00 P.M. at the Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky.
          Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
          Memorial contributions may be made to North Delaware Baptist Church, 809 E. Royerton Rd, 500 North; Muncie, IN 47303.
