Nelma "Chrissy" (Lee) Beaty passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 2, 2024, at Bethel Pointe. She was born on June 21, 1935, in Albany, Kentucky. She was the first born of eleven to Otto Lee and Pauline (Willen) Lee.
Nelma retired from Parkview Nursing Home as a cook. She loved the residents and made sure they had a great meal everyday she worked. She was also an excellent cook for her family. She made the best chicken and dumplings, cornbread, cole slaw and German chocolate cake. She was affectionately known as Ms. B in the old west end neighborhood where she lived for over 40 years. She could be found on her front porch enjoying the sun from morning until sunset. If she wasn't on her porch, she was most likely at Timbers or on a trip to the casino. She loved to tell stories of her time spent with her brothers and sisters. With so many siblings those stories were plentiful. She was an independent, strong, hard-working woman who proved she could take care of herself in the best and worst of times. She had a great sense of humor and joked up until her final days. The last words to leave her mouth were 'I love you'.
She leaves behind her daughter in law Sherri Beaty, her granddaughter Melissa Beaty, brothers Stevie (wife, Madge) and Keith Lee, a sister-in-law Judy Rice, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved great granddogs Bailey and Laynee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie Beaty, her son Gregory Beaty, brothers Glenn, Arthur Hugh, Billy and Johnny Lee, sisters Norma Hurd, Patricia Poole, Donna Sells and Monrie York.
The family requests to honor Nelma's memory by doing the simple things she loved in life. Share a home cooked meal with your loved ones, enjoy a warm sunny day outside taking in all the nature, have an ice-cold Bud Light and pull the lever on a slot machine a few times for her.
