Forrest E. Watters

May 8, 1931 ~ June 3, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

                Muncie- Forrest Watters, 86, went to be with The Lord Saturday, June 3, 2017, at  I. U. Health  Ball Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born on, May 8, 1931, in Upland, the son of William L. and Freda D. (Carmichael) Watters.

                He graduated from Royerton High School in 1950 and joined the United States Air Force in 1951 where he was an Electrical Instructor for four years.  In 1953 he married the love of his life, Sandra K. (Keppler) Watters and was married 64 wonderful years.  After leaving the service he started Watters Heating and Electric with his father and brother-in-law.  He retired in 1999 and his two sons now proudly own the company.  He also taught electrical classes at Ivy Tech in both Muncie and New Castle.  For many years he was a member and actively involved at Avondale United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.  Forrest loved building, flying and repairing remote control airplanes.  He belonged to the AMA, Muncie Sky Chiefs and flew with the Parker City Flying Group. 

                Forrest leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Sandra: 3 children, Rapid (Stephanie) Watters, Jeff Watters, and Kim (Scott) Ring; 3 grandchildren, Brian (Chelsea) Watters, Noblesville, Matthew (Emmi) Ring, Fort Myers, Florida and Tyler Ring, Cleveland, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Avery Ferne and Merit Forrest Watters; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Dick Williams; sister-in-law, Ellen Thomas; as well as many nieces and nephews.

                He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Beth Ann Watters.

                Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at  Avondale United Methodist Church   1314 W. 10th St. Muncie, IN 47302, on Thursday, June 8, 2017 and again on Friday morning, June 9, 2017,   1 hour prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. which will also be held at Avondale United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.  Military honors will be rendered by the Delaware County Honor Guard.

                In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Avondale United Methodist Church.

                Special thanks to the oncology department and the Nurses and Staff on the fifth floor at the I. U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital for taking such amazing care of Forrest.
