MUNCIE - Morris McCreery, 72, Muncie, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born July 30, 1944 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late Alpha and Martha (Dodson) McCreery. He was a 1962 graduate of Muncie Central High School and also attended Heating & Air Technicians School. Morris was the owner of McCreery Enterprises which included trucking, and appliance businesses. He was a local baseball coach and was later inducted into the Indiana Semi Pro Baseball Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his son, Michael McCreery, (wife-Beth); two daughters, Misty Conwell, (husband-Dennis); and Alana Howard, (husband-Richie); one sister, Marilyn Duncan; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alpha and Martha McCreery; and his wife, Jackie McCreery.
Services will be at Parson Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Calling for friends and family will be at the mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017.
Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery, Gaston, Indiana.
