Robert "Bob" Longfellow

Muncie- Robert “Bob” Longfellow, 77, passed away Tuesday morning March 7, 2017 at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on September 4, 1939 in Muncie, the son of Samuel T. and Mary (Robertson) Longfellow.

Bob graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1957.  On August 26, 1961, he married the love of his life, Linda (Main) Longfellow and shortly thereafter he enlisted in the Army and served as a Military Police Officer.  Upon returning from the military, Bob returned to Marhoefer’s where he worked in the shipping department and became an electrician.  Bob worked for the Ball Corporation as an electrician and superintendent of facilities for 19 years.  He then went to work for Mutual Federal Bank as a Maintenance Manager before his retirement in 2010.  Bob and Linda raised four wonderful children.  Bob enjoyed bowling, fixing things in his garage and spending time with his family.  Bob was involved in Delaware Lodge No. 46 of Free and Accepted Masons serving as the Worshipful Master in 1981.

Left to mourn the loss of Bob is his wife Linda Longfellow, sons, Rob Longfellow, wife Amy (Futrell) Longfellow of Mason, Ohio, Dean Longfellow, wife Amy (Lloyd) Longfellow of Watkinsville, Georgia, Michael Longfellow, wife Lisa (Deckers) Longfellow of Monroe, Michigan, a daughter, Michelle Clark of Muncie, Indiana, a brother, James Longfellow, wife Dixie (House) Longfellow of Muncie, Indiana and grandchildren, Sean Longfellow, Emma Longfellow, Jacob Clark, Jack Longfellow, Annalise Longfellow, Sarah Clark and Mackenzie Longfellow.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday March 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Union Chapel church in Muncie with Pastor Glenn Griener officiating. Friends may call on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Parson Mortuary from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the funeral service.
