Tyrone "Ty" Goodpaster

Gaston- After a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving family Tyrone (Ty) Goodpaster, 61, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 20, 2018. 

After graduating from Union High School Ty proudly joined the United States Marine Corp.  Some of his tours of duty included Okinawa and Camp Lejeune before he was honorably discharged. He carried a great pride for his fellow Marines and country throughout his life. Ty was a member of Masonic Lodge #433.

Ty never knew a stranger and had a kind word and smile for anyone who had the pleasure of crossing his path. Never one to sit idle Ty often worked around the clock to both provide for his family and to offer any number of resources to those who needed his help. He will be deeply missed by those who had the honor of calling him friend.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Jo; their children; Danyell (Ryan) Landreth, Danny (Janette) Slaven, and Dawnielle (Mike) Koebcke. The light of his life was his cherished grandbabies; Joshua, Miley, Gracey, Hailey, Emaly, Sophie, and Harper. Also surviving are his sister; Camelia Pflum and a brother; Tas Goodpaster, plus several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father Charles and Mildred Goodpaster, a sister Cindy Barber, a brother Mark Goodpaster, and baby sister Jeannie Flynn.

Services will be held  on Tuesday, April 24, at Parson Mortuary, 801 West Adams Street, Muncie, IN.at 3:00 PM, with pastor Larry Waters officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 3 pm on Tuesday.
