Barbara Waller

Muncie-Barbara J. Waller, 82, passed away Friday afternoon, August 10, 2018, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Clark County, Illinois on December 15, 1935, the daughter of Homer and Lola (Reynolds) Fox.

                Barbara was a 1954 graduate of Casey High School in Casey, Illinois.  She worked as a desk clerk at the hotel in Casey, owned by Maude Roberts.  She later moved to Akron, Ohio then moving to Muncie for the remainder of her life.   Barbara worked for the U.S. Postal service from 1966 until 1996 when she retired after 30 years of service.  Barbara was one of the first five female letter carriers to work in Muncie, which she was very proud of.   She had been a member of the Grace Lutheran Church,

                Barbara is survived by her children Michael (Mike) Waller (wife-Tara), Timothy Waller, Barbara A. Paul and Shari Waller; Grandchildren, Corey Waller (wife-Amber), Matthew Waller, Alex Waller, Whitney Lyons, Elise Martin, Candice Craig (husband-Chris), J.D. Lyons, Emily Paul and Stacie Paul; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Medsker, Rosalita Hamblen and June Reed; Aunt Martha Reynolds; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

                She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Reba Peters; brother, Jess Fox; one grandchild; three great grandchildren; three uncles, Lee, Dale and Don Reynolds; ex-husband, James Waller, son-in-law Don Paul.

                Private family graveside services will be held at the Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie with Pastor Danny Mackey officiating.  Parson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Barabra’s wishes were that memorial contributions be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank 6621  N. ST RD 3 Muncie IN 47303.
