Casandra K. Bretz

Muncie-Casandra K. Bretz, 26, passed away Monday afternoon, November 27, 2017, at the emergency room of the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  She was born on July 29, 1991, in Muncie, the daughter of Sherry Phipps and Ronald Bretz.

Ms. Bretz is a 2009 graduate of Muncie Southside High School and later had been attending Ivy Tech.  While at Southside, she was a part of the ROTC program.  She had been a member of the Memorial United Baptist Church.  To say that Casandra was a Marilyn Monroe fan is an understatement!

Survivors include her parents Ronald Bretz (wife – Sandra) and Sherry (Kidd) Phipps (husband- Kenny Hardin), all of Muncie; one brother, Ronald “Bubba” Bretz, Muncie two step brothers, Shannon Falkenstein (wife-Val) and Christopher Falkenstein (wife-Sarah), both of Muncie;  Muncie; maternal grandfather, Dillard Kidd, Muncie;  four aunts, Betty Ashby (husband-Danny), Muncie, Sallie Ledbetter, Parker City, Joyce McMahon (husband-Jim) Elyria, Ohio and Phyllis Meranda (husband-Allan Gregory), Parker City; two uncles, Samuel Bretz, North Baltimore, Ohio and Billy Kidd (wife-Penny), Muncie; several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, Malachi Isaiah Bretz in 2009;  her half-brother, Trent Bretz- Heeter; maternal grandmother, Sandra K. Kidd; her paternal grandparents, Samuel Bretz and Garnet (Bretz) Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017, 1:00 p.m.  at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Ron Black officiating.  Burial will follow at the Beech Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Monday, December 4, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
