Charles Edward Christie

Muncie-Charles E.  Christie, 78, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  He was born on August 30, 1938, in Muncie, the son of Fred and Lucy (Davis) Christie Sr.

                Charles is a graduate of Muncie Central High School and later married the love of his life Faye (Abbott) Christie and she survives.  Mr. Christie had worked for New Venture Gear as a Gear Cutter for 29 years prior to his disability.   He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Scottish Rite from Indianapolis, Whitney Lodge, the Murat Shiners and the Shiners International.  Charles also was a member of the United Auto Workers and the Avondale Sympathy Club through New venture Gear.  Mr. Christie enjoyed yard work and enjoyed his grandchildren.

                Besides his wife, Faye, he is survived by his son, Ricky Christie (wife-Michele), Muncie; three grandchildren, Kyle Christie (wife- Amber), New Palestine, Indiana, Noah Christie and Erica Christie, both of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

                He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Fred Christie, Jr., one sister, Rosemary Johnson.

                Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017, 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating.  Burial will follow at the Tomlinson Cemetery.

                Friends may call the Parson Mortuary on Thursday, February 9, 2017, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Friday February 10, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
