Charles “Red” W. Ruble, Jr., 88, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 11, 2019, at the Morrison Woods Health Care Center following an extended illness. He was born on November 15, 1931 in Winchester, Indiana the son of Charles W. and Opal Evelyn (Snyder) Ruble.
Red married the love of his life, Beverly S. (Brendle) Ruble on March 9, 1951 and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2007, Mr. Ruble owned and operated Turner’s Alignment and Automotive West from 1968-2004. He had honorably served in the Army National Guard and the United States Airforce during both World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Ruble was a member of the Scottish Rite, the Moose Lodge, the elks Lodge, the Shrine Club and is a Past Master Mason. He was also a member of the Gethsemane United Methodist Church. Red loved anything to do with cars. In fact, he was also a member of the Independent Garage Owners Association, the Moog Automotive Council and even taught automotive technology at IVY Tech. Other interest included, playing his banjo and reading.
Survivors include; son, Larry George Ruble (Kathy), daughter Laura Ruble; daughter Jennifer Wall (Kevin), son Kyle Kilgore (Jennifer) and daughter, Elizabeth Clevenger (Jason);son, Rick Ruble (Sally), son Zachary Ruble (Keara), daughter, Dr. Whitney Bross (Jeremy), son T.J. Ruble (Emily), son, Randy Ruble; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Mengerink and Joann Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife of 56 years, Beverly, he is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters.
Cremation is taking place with a private burial of cremated remains at Beech Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church 1201 W. McGalliard, Muncie, IN 47303 with Pastor Tony Kimbler officiating. Parson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
