Connie Jett Obituary

Muncie- Connie L. Jett, 65, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 2019, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on June 24, 1953 in Muncie, the daughter of John and Elsie R. (Todd) Stevens.

Connie was a 1971 graduate of Muncie Southside High School and later married the love of her life, John R. Jett, Sr., on May 14, 1971 in Muncie and he survives. Mrs. Jett became a secretary for the Youth Opportunity Center and the Muncie Community Schools for several years prior to her retirement in 2006. She was a former member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and was a current member of the Sound the Alarm Worship Center. She enjoyed going camping, being outdoors, going to Disney World and watching the Hall Mark Channel. Mostly, Connie treasured being with her family.

Besides her husband and best friend of 51 years John, she is survived by two daughters, Rachel Padget (husband-Tim), Muncie and Leesa Estep(husband-David), Selma; one son, John R. (Droopy) Jett, Jr., (wife- Cynthia), Cowan ; six grandchildren, Sara Padgett, Hana Padgett, Lyndsey Estep, Levi Estep, Jayden Jett and Calynn Jett; one brother, John E. Stevens, Orlando, Florida; two special nephews, John Stevens (wife-Alisha), Muncie and Tim Stevens, Orlando, Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her father and mother-in-law George and Gretchen Jett.

Funeral services will be held on January 21, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at the Sound the Alarm Worship Center, 3100 East McGalliard Rd.. Muncie, IN 47303; with Pastors Joey Prewitt and Jerry Miller officiating. A private burial will follow. Parson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call at Sound the Alarm Worship Center on Monday, January 21, 2019, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
