Darrell A. Layne, September 5, 1961- September 7, 2018:

Darrell Alvin Layne, 57 of the Scranton, North Carolina Community, died Friday, September 7, 2018.

Darrell was born in Delaware County, Indiana, September 5, 1961.  He was the son of the Late Ernest Ray and Zelma G. (Clift) Layne.

Mr. Layne was an avid pool player, enjoyed fishing, nature and country music; especially Hank Williams Jr. and Johnny Cash.

Surviving is a son, James Alan Layne (wife-Shelley); a daughter, Kimberly D. L. Grayson (husband-Jacob); two brothers, Wendell R. Layne(wife-Phyllis) and Randy Layne (wife-Brenda), all of Muncie; one sister, Brenda L. Clem (husband-Carl), Scranton, North Carolina; two grandchildren,  Seth Michael Grayson and Crystal Rose Grayson; a special friend, Wanda Richardson; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two nephews, Wendell Ray Layne, Jr. and Brendan Clem.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.

Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help in college educations for the grandchildren.
