Gaston-Donna Phipps, 85, passed away Monday morning, December 17, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on, December 4, 1927, in Muncie, the daughter of Robert and Vera (Tyler) Johnson.
Donna married the love of her life, Delbert Phipps August 13, 1945 and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2000. Mrs. Phipps became a homemaker and eventually received her GED late in life. She was a member of the T.O.P.S. Club and attended the Church of the Nazarene when she was able to go to church. Donna enjoyed cooking, beading/jewelry making but, mostly she cherished the times she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Wendy Davis (husband-Derrick), Gaston; one son, Wendell R. Phipps (wife-Linda), Vevay; one grandson, Chris Phipps; five great granddaughters, Brittany Cook, Muncie, May, Katie and Gracee Cook all of Gaston and Meagan Phipps, Indianapolis.
Besides her husband of 55 years, Delbert, she is preceded by her parents, one great grandson, Todd Christopher Cook in 2011; one brother, Dale Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Rev. Margie Vandergraff officiating. Burial will follow at the Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Thursday, December 20, 2012, from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
