Gary Lee Smith

Gary Lee Smith, 33, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018, as a hero. He died saving the life of his fiancé, from a house fire. He was born in Lakeview Michigan on June 28, 1985 to Cheryl and Wally Smith.

Gary was a self-employed carpenter and loved working on cars. He was the biggest NASCAR fan and #48 was his car. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, collecting baseball cards and spending time with the kids.

Gary is survived by his fiancé Shawna Jordan, 4 step children; Kianna Wilson, Jasmine Wilson, Logan Wilson and Rocky Wilson, 3 brothers; Mitchell Bever, Shawn Smith and CJ Smith, an aunt, Debra Hayman, an uncle, PJ Johnson, maternal grandmother Marge Johnson, several Nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Wally Smith, a nephew; Shawn Paul Smith, a grandson; Theodor James Wilson, his aunt, Tammy Johnson, a grandfather, Paul Johnson Sr. and his dog Dimond who passed in the fire with him.

Cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held at a later date.
