J. Bilbrey Obituary

                Muncie-J.B. Bilbrey, 81, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born on, April 25, 1937, in Vineridge, Tennessee, the son of Everett and May (Stepp) Bilbrey.

                Mr. Bilbrey had attended Clarksville, Tennessee city schools and later graduated from Muncie Central High School. J.B. had married the love of his life Mary (Cooper) Bilbrey in 1964 and she preceded him in death in 2000.  He became a tool and die maker for Brodericks for over 30 years prior to their closing and later a machinist for Chevrolet prior to his retirement.    Mr. Bilbrey had attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, volunteered at the American Red Cross, the Boy Scouts of America, the Delaware County Prevention of Child Abuse, the United Way, the Foresters, and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union #2045.  He also had coached youth in basketball, baseball, softball and worked with several youth organizations through the years.  He was known to be a staunch Democrat.

                He is survived by three sons, Richard Bilbrey (wife-Angela), Yorktown, Larry Bilbrey Phoenix, Arizona and J.B. Bilbrey II (wife-Sheri), New Castle; one daughter, Teresa Colyer (companion-Adam Bilbrey), Muncie; two brothers,  Rev. Everett Bilbrey (wife-Connie), Eaton and Larry Bilbrey (wife-Beverly), Muncie; two sisters, Dorothy Vance (husband-Chuck), Eaton and Patsy Todd (husband-Joe), Muncie; ten grandchildren; eleven  great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

                Besides his wife of 36 years, Mary, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Smith in 2002 and his parents; several siblings.

                Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, 10:00 A.M.  at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Everett Bilbrey officiating.  Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory north of Muncie.

                Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Monday, August 6, 2018, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday morning, August 7, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until service time.

                Memorial contributions may be made to the Prevention of Child Abuse Council of Delaware County , 330 E. Main St. Muncie, IN 47305.
