James Edward Savage, 87, Muncie, passed away at his residence on Monday, February 5, 2018 after a brief illness.
He was born October 21, 1930 in Muncie, Indiana the son of the late James and Cleo (Twigg) Savage. James grew up in Anderson, Indiana and was a 1949 graduate of Anderson High School, following graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from 1949 to 1953 serving time in the Korean War. After his time in the service James went to work in the construction field working for Baystone Construction and Wilhelm Construction. James attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God and held memberships in the Cammack American Legion #327, VFW Post #1400, and the Masonic Lodge #46.
He is survived by two sons, James “Jim” Walter Savage, (wife-Pat), Muncie; Steven Wallace Savage, (companion-Ruth Rector), Muncie; one daughter, Deborah Lynne Boling, Muncie; one brother, Tom Savage, (wife-Rosemary), Sioux Falls, SD; three grandsons, James Edward Savage, (wife-Dawn), Fishers, IN; Steven Douglas Savage, (wife-Lisa), Farmland, IN; Christopher Edward Savage, (companion-Ashley) Muncie; one granddaughter, Melody Medlock, Muncie; four great-granddaughters, Shanina Smith, Morgan Medlock, Naomi Medlock, and Kiley Savage; two great-grandsons, Jaiden Stahl, and James Savage; one great-great-grandson, Brailyn Smith; and two great-great-granddaughters, Liliegh Medlock, and Alice Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Naomi Lonita (DeWees) Savage; and his parents, James and Cleo Savage.
Funeral Service will be at Parson Mortuary on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Masonic service will take place immediately prior to funeral service.
Calling will be at Parson Mortuary from 12:00 p.m. on Monday until the time of service.
