James H. Wolf, 85, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Crawfordsville Indiana. Jim was born in Indianapolis to Mariam (O’Meara) and Howard Wolf on January 16, 1933.
James graduated from Burris High School in 1951 and Ball State University in 1957 and The University of Virginia Graduate School of Consumer Banking in 1976. He served his country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. Jim was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, The American Legion, Theta Chi Fraternity, The Exchange Club, The Heart Association, and supported “Beyond I Can” and The Boy Scouts of America. Jim was an avid traveler with many trips to Western U.S. states and Europe. Jim was a meticulous landscaper who according to family and friends would spend his time blending each tree, bush and flower to create a dynamic weaving of colors for specific contrast and design. He was proud to be on the Symphony League’s Garden Tour of Homes.
Surviving Jim are his good friend and caregiver Patty Hofmann, a son, Bruce W. Wolf (Kathleen), two daughters, Cindy Simmons (Jon), Brenda Wolf, ex-wife Beth Wolf mother of his children, and two sisters- in-law. He had been blessed with four grandchildren: Nicholas and Patrick Wolf and Tyler and Cory Simmons.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers: Howard, Thomas and Richard.
Funeral Services will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday September 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Father Dudzinski officiating. Rosary will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Elm Ridge .
Friends may call on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
